At the foot of the pier, visitors are greeted by a sandstone sculpture celebrating Wustrow's past by Christine Dewerny (Swantewit, 2000-01).
Wustrow‘s annual pier festival (Seebrückenfest) takes place on the last Sunday in August. Several other local festivals including the annual beach horse race and the summer beach festival take place in the vicinity of the pier. The built-in stage is also regularly used for small concerts. On summer evenings, the pier is a favourite spot to hang out, watch the sunset, and take spectacular photographs of the evening sky.
