In high travel season, bus connections are available between Fishland and several large German cities. When arriving by train, disembark in Ribnitz-Damgarten West and take bus #210 (or a taxis) to Fischland. Bicycles are allowed on many buses and trains.
The seaside resort of Wustrow has the full complement of shops and services needed for holidaymaking: Supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy, post office, library, savings bank, bicycle rental, launderette, doctor‘s surgery and many small shops can all be reached on foot and by bike. Thus, Wustrow is a great location for car-free holidays.
Arriving by bicycle is by far the most spectacular option – the passenger ship MS Boddenkieker travels across the Saaler Bodden from Ribnitz-Damgarten to Dierhagen and Wustrow up to three times daily (www.boddenschifffahrt.de).
The regional public transportation authority (VVR) offers a flexible tourist ticket for all guests. The ticket is valid for 7 days and entitles one person unlimited use of buses #201 to #324, including the city of Stralsund (Wabe 100). The ticket is valid only in conjunction a tourist card (Kurkarte; the very first bus ride is exempt from this requirement). Luggage is free of charge.
