History behind letters

It is no secret that Ostseebad Wustrow is a village with a far-reaching cultural history. Mariners, cultural figures and other important personalities have left a lasting mark on the village in its past. In order to record this in a way that can be experienced, the spa administration of Ostseebad Wustrow has now published several books, written from the knowledge and memories of the inhabitants.

775 Jahre Ostseebad Wustrow 1235-2010 (20,00 €)

In 2010, Ostseebad Wustrow celebrated its 775th anniversary. On the occasion of this impressive number, an overview of the most significant history of the place has been compiled in this book. A must for everyone who wants to get to know Wustrow better!

New edition of the book also published in 2010 and a beautiful and picture-rich tribute to the former great farming places and their inhabitants.

A book that seems like a travel guide to the historic Fischland cemetery. Supplemented by an orientation map, it brings the stories behind the graves to life.

Fischländer Jahreszeiten (19,95 €)

This book is an ode to the beauty of the seasons on Fischland and is intended as a continuation of "Fischländer Winter". Beautiful photos, especially of the picturesque district of Barnstorf, complement the sensitive texts.

Only published in December 2020, this book leads through the streets of Wustrow, presents individual houses, tells their stories and brings to mind how closely Wustrow, its houses and the locals are connected with shipping.


Ottomar Enking - Dichter und Sammler, Fischländer Steinfunde (18,00 €)

Ottomar Enking (1867-1945) left us an extensive literary oeuvre in which he incorporated all kinds of influences and memories from his Fischland summers and connections with the local inhabitants. Ulla Freitag succeeds in vividly capturing these and giving the name Ottomar Enking a face and a story.
