Sailing

Be it a gentle draught, a stiff breeze or a strong wind - it's all a question of the right outfit, and, more importantly, the right boat. Experienced sailors can take dinghies from Permin Bay into Saaler Bodden in up to Beaufort force 4 winds. Robust, local dinghies can be hired in Wustrow for half or full days, as can motorboats, canoes and rowing boats. Wustrow’s Fischland Harbour is located on the shores of Permin Bay, an ideal training ground for summer visitors. Fischland‘s only sailing school is also located in the harbour. Basic and advanced courses are offered for all age groups, as well as courses for all sports boat licences and VHF licences.

When the wind picks up, its safer to switch to a larger boat. Traditional Baltic Sea zeesenboote, approx. 10-metre-long wide-hulled sailing boats, can handle up to Beaufort force 7 winds. Two zeesenboote are moored in Fischland Harbour, the "Bill" and the "Butt". The skippers are available to take visitors out for a turn in almost any weather. Bring your oilskins and enjoy an exhilarating sailing experience!
